Quarterly Retreats

A deep creativity reset for artists and visionaries who are ready to let go of creative exhaustion — and step into their biggest creative capacity

Upcoming Dates: 10/23-25

There are moments when the work you've been doing needs more than a new technique or a fresh deadline.

It needs space. Beauty. Time to slow down and listen.

The Wake Up and Dream Quarterly Retreat is a three-day immersion designed for exactly that moment — when you know there's more in you than what's been making it to the page, and you need the time, the community, and the soul work to find it again.

What to Expect

Set in the stunning landscape of Ojai, California — or online for those who can't make it in person — each retreat takes place over three full days, Friday through Sunday.

The days are structured to hold both depth and spaciousness. You will never be rushed. You will never be performing. You will be working — at the level that actually changes things.

Each day moves through:

Morning — Nourishment and Clearing The day begins slowly and with purpose. Light breakfast on the outdoor patio, time in nature, and quiet journaling. We honor the morning hours as a time for introspection and setting the tone — before the thinking mind takes over.

Group Dreaming and Creative Expression We open in community by checking in with the previous night's dreams and creative stirrings. Louise then guides an extended drop-down exercise — through breath, gentle movement, and active imagination — inviting each participant to court their Creative Genius and access the deeper material their work is made of. This is followed by self-directed creative expression: writing, drawing, collaging. Whatever wants to come through.

Afternoon — Lecture and Dream Theatre After lunch, Louise teaches — going deeper into the theory and application of Dreamwork in creative work, addressing the specific insights and questions surfacing in the room.

Then comes Dream Theatre: one of the most profound experiences the retreat offers. Individual participants stage their dream in an improvised, theatre-like experience, supported by the full community. The dreamer walks back through their dream in real time — slowing down, reliving the moments, meeting the dream figures from a place of open, conscious awareness. No intellectual analysis. No straining to figure it out. The dream's meaning reveals itself directly. New paths forward emerge — from the dream itself.

Evening — Integration and Incubation Each day closes with group sharing, reflection, and integration. We put down the work for the day and invite whatever wants to arrive in the night.

The Location

In-person retreats are held at a sprawling property in Ojai, CA — one of the most creatively regenerative landscapes in Southern California.

The property includes an indoor studio, ample indoor and outdoor areas for writing and quiet reflection, walking trails, oak groves, and panoramic views of the Ojai Valley. Breakfast and lunch are included each day.

The property features 12 rooms of varying size and price. Rooms are booked separately and are not included in the retreat price — Louise can share accommodation details upon registration.

Online retreats follow the same daily structure and are held via Zoom, with full participation in all sessions including Dream Theatre.

Who This Is For

  • This retreat is for the working artist who has been running on empty.

  • For the writer who knows they have more to give but can't seem to access it.

  • For the creative professional who has been producing — but producing from the surface, and feeling it.

  • For anyone who is hungry, as Louise says, for a way forward rooted in soul, depth, and inner truth.

  • You do not need to have worked with Louise before. You do not need to have an active project. You need only to be willing to slow down, drop in, and let the work surprise you.
